Business Models for Local Energy Communities

In order to start an energy community project, secure the necessary funds, and attract more members, a viable business case is important. However, not all pilot projects are easily replicable, as they mostly depend on subsidies to make the project viable and lack a clear business case to encourage others to replicate the project. Developing an innovative business model that is based on the current European regulatory framework for Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and Citizens Energy Communities (CECs) is necessary. This report provides information for the development of business models for energy communities.
